Is my PSAT score good for a sopre, and how should I increase it?

I am a National Merit Finalist, and my sopre year I scored 178. I brought it up 40 points my junior year to achieve finalist standing. If it is your goal to become a finalist (which you SHOULD given you want to go to an ivy league school) then you will need to improve a LOT. However, if you start studying for the SAT during your junior year, you should be able to improve your PSAT as well. If you don't become a national merit finalist or semifinalist, the PSAT really doesnt matter much. Definitely work on your math, but you can do better in all categories. It might be beneficial to you to find a good tutor. I went to a very expensive and qualified tutor for the ACT (on which I scored a 35) and it helped tremendously with the PSAT too. You just have to get used to taking standardized tests.

Terribly Depressed, G/F dumped me 6 months ago, what now at 35 ?

I am a man of 35, from UK. In early 2006 i met a colombian woman online ( through online dating). My marriage had broken down and this woman was really caring and loving. I went to see her and we were right for each other. She understood me etc whereas before my wife had always been difficult, cold and non affectionate and we were not right for each other. At the same time, it was difficult because i had a young child with my wife and i was feeling guilty that our marriage was breaking ( with the young child) and i wasnt living with my wife. My girlfriend understood the situation and was supportive. Anyway, i went to live in colombia on 3 ocions but i found it difficult to settle there. In February 2008 i returned to the UK and i noticed my girlfriend had started to change, she was saying i wasnt in contact enough and she kept saying i had to change thingss abvout myself. Then, we argued and she didnt contact me. When i contacted her again in March 2008 she said she was tired of me and she didnt want me ( after 2.5 years of relationship). I was devastated. I had invested alot of my feelings into her and i really love her. She said she didnt believe i loved her but really it felt like she was looking to blame many things on me. I then asked her if she had found someone else and she said " i like someone and he likes me, we are talking......im being cautious". I fell to pieces because i realised she was trying something else ( and maybe with someone she met online). I felt a fool. She didnt seem interested to talk more and i havent heard from her again. For me she was the love of my life and i am having mive problems coming to terms with it, even though 6 months have ped. Ive fallen into a big depession and feel totally lonely. My job is in trouble ( not because of this) and really i feel my life is over at 35 ! I struggle to get out of bed in the morning and i have no motivation. I cant stop thinking about her and not seeing beyond what we had together. Im convinced we would have been together forever. I have never felt at such a dead end in my life before. I am still married ( in law, nothing more) but i know that i have to get a divorce but im so emotionally exhausted and stuck on my ex. She was the one for me. Yes, it was one of our favorite places in a several country of Europe. A beautiful city! We missed our flight from Prague to the United States and after failing to find a good hotel (the city was busy) we opted to spend the night on the streets of Prague. I find that some children never grow out of shitting in their underwear. As a mother myself my own son who is now coming up 19, I fully undastand and sympathise with you. He hasnt been able to control his bowels since he started wearing big biy underwear. I tried several punishments such as taking away his gaming consoles or tv privilages and even selling his beloved pet dog but i found it made matters worse. To be honest with you it does rather disappoint me that my own son is doing this embarrasing and most filthy act. Try making your daughter clean her own underwear and she if she likes that or better yet hide the dirty underwear somewhere in her room until she cant take the smell anymore and it trains her to get to a toilet on time. Look for someone sitting alone and ask a random question about school. Then just strike up a conversation about how you got lost so many times, or how this school is totally different. Say something funny, you know? And try not to force your way into a group, or a clique. They're likely to be a lot harsher than someone by themselves. I also have a saxophone that I have at school, but I have to bring it home for a concert I will be playing in next week. There's a hamper, and a fan on my floor, but the fan is lifted each night onto a chair so I can have it on when I sleep. My bed is too high for a fan to be sitting on the floor, and I get anything from it. On my dresser, I have a mirror, and on that mirror, there's pictures, a movie ticket, certificates, and a poem. There's also perfume, jewelry, my Edward and Bella dolls, my nail stuff, my makeup, my hair stuff, my deodorant, lotion, some pictures in frames, a mini mirror, two Cullen crests, and a lamp. On top of my TV are my remotes, a cable box, a DVD player, and a VCR, and a picture of my boyfriend. My old bedside table is behind my door with my trash can under it. On my headboard, there are two compartments for things, and in one, I have some journals for multiple projects I want to start, a book light, my old gles, (long story about the gles. To cut it short, I can't read with my new gles on, and I have to read with my old gles on.) and my flip video camera. In the other compartment, I have a math stencil I found on the bus, and am returning to the teacher on Monday, a book light, my DVDs, and my music case. I have been trying to do a paper on Capital punishment for a few days and have researched for hours and hours?

but I can not seem to find basic facts. Some "authoritative" studies seem to say that capital punishment costs more and yet when I search on google I can't find the original source. Some say that the cost is more for capital punishment than LWOP but then others give studies saying the opposite and each side picks flaws at eachother's statistic gathering. The same thing with deterrance. Some say it's undeniable that it deters and point to numerous studies and then others point to an attorney general and other studies that it doesn't deter. No I would not. I have been exposed to several government agencies, I am a construction electrician, and let me tell you that it is sick the way the majority of government workers do nothing. In my opinion they virtually steal their paychecks. I will give you an example. Several years ago I worked on the construction of a new office building at the Social Security Complex in west Baltimore. A typical day, not for all, for many of the Social Security employees went as follows. 8am punch in and go to office, immediately go to the cafeteria for breakfast for approximately 1hr, 9:30am go to the cafeteria for coffee break for approximately 45min., 11:30 put everything away in preparation for lunch, 11:45 leave for lunch, 1:30 return from lunch, 2:30 go to cafeteria for coffee break for approximately 45min. 4:30pm clean everything from desk and prepare to leave. 5pm leave for the day. Hell of a hard day. I could not live with myself if I did not more for my money than this. As I say I would feel like a thief. I also worked at the National Security Agency at FT. Meade, Md. It was a bit better but not much. If I worked like that how long do you think I would be employed?

so i've just finished year 11 and my friend decided 2 have an end of year party but there was only 7 people there includin herself anyway so the boy i fancy was there but i knew he was gona be and i was hopin sumthin mite happen but it didn't :-( but i hate myself for wot i did and i cud blame it on the drink but i knew exactly wot i was doin. I kept grabbin him and huggin him but he didnt seem to mind but after a few mins he wud walk away and anytime i would go near him he would start walkin away. He then started dancin with the other girls that were there but thats nothin out of the ordinary for him as we've been to loads of parties at the same house and thats just what he does but i never used to fancy him then. He knows i like him and wen i was lyin down hw started to dance on top of me kind of like a lap dance lol and we danced together a few times. I cryed about 7 times that nite and i just couldnt stop all my mates were sayin hes not worth cryin over and i knew wot they were sayin was true but i couldnt stop the tears as much as i tried, i kept goin downstairs to do this as i didnt want him to see but he saw me cryin and i sed im sorry to him and he said its alrite i then asked for a hug and he gave me one and i said i hate you and he asked why and i proceeded to say cuz you're so good lookin (one of my many stupid mistakes that nite). When we started to settle down i started swearin at him and sayin he was an idiot and i said i was gona kill him purely as a joke and it was cuz i was upset and frustrated that he didnt feel the same way. I then jokingly went over there and hit his leg lightly pretending i was killin him but im not sure if its cuz he was annoyed at me (which i dont blame him for) but he grabbed me and started draggin me round the room he then started to twist my ankle until it was really hurtin and then he stood on me on his way back to where he's been lyin down. I said sorry to him and acted like it hadnt hurt but i started cryin silently into my pillow and my mate nxt 2 me cud just aboout hear me and started to rub my back to comfort me. I now duno where to put myself as i feel really bad for what i did and i'm worried about goin to any other party incase he avoids me as i don't blame him if he wanted to and we're not the closest of friends but we have a lot of laughs together. Also i don't know what he must think about me: whether he hates me, knows it could have been because of the drink or maybe he doesn't care. Last school year I had to do a research project and I chose Creationism. I was strongly against the belief of a talking snake and a naked lady in a garden, and my teacher was strongly for it. Even though I ripped Creationism a new one, (we had to present it as well, and I used each and every slide to make fun of it) I was the only one in my cl to get a 100. My teacher told me even though he didn't agree with me, and looked for things to take off credit for, he couldn't find anything, because I was just that good. While I was working on that project I saw Bill Maher's Religulous. My teacher told my cl that next year we have to do an even bigger research paper because as the year's get harder, so do the research papers. I want to do what Bill Maher did in Religulous. I want to do the project on religion in generaI. I obviously can't travel the world, but I can certainly go to churches and interview priests and ministers. I live in the south, and there are many churches. I think it would be a lot of fun. What do you think?

For 2-3 months, my neighbors hired a annoying and abusive construction company "Tile For You". The Asian Construction Worker "ACW" slams the front door 25-30 times a day that wakes me up at 8:45 am. I request him not to slam the door, and he began slamming the wall, and pounding the walls where there was no work to do. Just to annoy a handicap neighbor. The ACW had more then three warnings from police, the Condo management and me. The ACW continue to slam the front door and now he says abusive language like "mother ******" "f..you" to me. His last day he again slammed the door waking me up, and was laughing with his co-worker sticking the fff finger, saying profound statements towards me. I was arrested back in Aug 2006 b/c a person living in my basement was growing marijuana (which I knew nothing about it btw). I was arrested b/c I'm the home owner and I believe b/c of my age (22 at the time). The judge said b/c I was the home owner I should be aware of what is going on in or outside of my house, so he gave a PBJ (probation before judgement). There were about 4 charges, 2 felonies and 2 misdemeanors. I was only charged w/ 1 misdemeanor (Poss. of marijuana, it was in MY home, my home is MY possession). Didn't really agree with that, since my neighbors son did the same thing and she didn't get arrested, but whatever, what's done is done now. Anyway, then in June 2007, while on PBJ, I did do something stupid, I went and got a prescription filled for a person that I knew had a drug problem, but didn't think anything was wrong w/ the prescription (a LITTLE bit better than street drugs I guess). Turned out the prescription was fraudulent, again I was arrested. This time there were about 3 charges and I was only charged w/ 1 which was Possession of a Fraudulent Prescription. Then of course I violated my probation, which my PBJ turned into an actual guilty plea, was out on more probation and House Arrest, which I just got off of 3 weeks ago! No one has really told me if the 2 charges I got were misdemeanors or not. I was also told that I could get 1 of them pardoned by the Governor of my city in Maryland. I've been trying to research but still not finding my answers. Can anyone give me any info about this? Have you gone through the same thing??
