What do people think of Australia being a monarchy? Do they view it as backwards, strange or confusing?

like Kevin Rudd and his labor cronies do? I think that it is the best system of government and don't think there is any better alternative. Also the estimated $2 billion dollars that will be spent changing everything could be spent on much more important things.
