Whoo-hoo for The Sims 2?!?

I have this game for playstation (PS2) My family is the husband and wife. There relationship is 100 and romantic, not friend. I've done the whoo-hoo before while they are both relaxing in bed, but nothing ever happens. Please tell me what i am doing wrong and what i need to do. I just don't understand why it isn't working.
